I've wondered how effective it would be to offer selling people's belongings on e-bay for them for a contingency fee. Many people might otherwise throw out valuable stuff. Eventually, you might specialize. You might take 10% of the selling price in addition to listing costs.

Have fun.

Sorry to see your first answer was an internet scam lol.
A good business for you may very well be different than most other people there are a couple of ways to look at it.

1) Find something you are passionate about and pursue that, if you are into sports start a sports memoribilia store, if you are into art start an art supply store or a gallery etc. etc.

2) Find something that you are naturally good at, make it work for you.

3) Find something that will benefit members of your community you always need to make sure you are giving more use value to your customers than cash value you receive.

You can try to do the what color is my parachute workbook to see what you are good at, that would probably help you make your decision as well.

Sorry I don't have more specifics, but the answer is really an individual thing.

I just wrote a question for Yahoo! Answers last night asking if anyone was interested in partnering to start a business. Technically, you would be an independent business owner yourself and we would just work to encourage each other and assist each other, like a team. I am seeking to build such a team right now. This opportunity utilizes residual income to provide ongoing payment from month to month at a 30% commission rate. Because it is a niche product, marketing it does NOT require a state license.

If you have an interest, you are welcome to email me a recent resume below. This is not required, but I like to know a little about your previous work.

You forgot to tell us about your most important assets. What is your training and experience?

I remember hearing on CNN years ago that people who start businesses where they have no formal training or experience fail almost every time. It was 96% or higher.

Most people who consider going into business for themselves are not ready. The best way to get there is to first work for someone else in the same business that you plan to run. Make your mistakes at their expense. Observe how they deal with the owner's portion of the business like hiring, firing, finding customers, advertising, financing, etc.

Good luck!
