You have a 54.0 mbps wireless connection!

The speed of the connection entering the home hub will be 4506 kbps (for example), but the speed of the data transfer between the home hub & your pc is 54.0 mbps.

THe 54.0 mbps is the speed of the connection from the computer to the modem/router. It is usually the speed of a wireless connection, but not always. It has nothing to do with the speed of the internet.

The connection between your PC and the wireless route/hub is 54Mbps - that is 802.11G Wifi speed.

The connection between your wireless router/hub and BT is 4mbps.

Think of it this way, you can REALLY fast on your local road, the speed limit sign says so. But when you get to the motorway - you've got to sloooooooooooowwwwwwww doooowwwwwnnnnnn.

¨The 54mb is the speed of the wireless connection from your laptop to the router (bt home hub)

The speed out from router to the web is what the speedd test reported.

that is the speed of your wirelless router. the internet connection is always slower that the company says. your internet speed also depends on the sight that you are going on.
