It depends on how ready you are when you get to the appointment. The photographer is trained to apply make-up and fix the students hair, cover blemishes and all of that... So if you've done that before you get there, it won't take more than 45 minutes to an hour. Practicing different poses the photog will have you do will help you feel more at ease too. When we're nervous, and who isn't when their pic is taken to last a lifetime, our mouths get dry. Put a little, (and I mean just a little) Vasoline on your teeth. Then your lips won't stick to them when you go for the smile shots! You also have a choice in what your finished chosen pic will look like. Tell the photog you look better at this angel, smiling or not smiling... Good luck and have fun with it.

Here's some advice from a Senior Citizen. You are going to have lots of things to spend your money on this Senior year of high school. Pick out one pose that you like and get the smallest and cheapest package of pictures available. I guarantee you, that Senior picture will not be a lifetime heirloom. My age 30+ children refuse to take their nicely framed Senior pictures to their own homes and I haven't the slightest idea what became of mine or my husband's picture. Better yet, spend that money to buy yourself a good digital camera. Then you and your friends can take pictures of each other and have some fun while you are at it.

My youngest graduated 17 years ago and the pics were about $600. I had a friend that was a professional photog take my sons pics for grad. 25 years ago and they cost me $50.00. Depends on what you buy as to cost and the studio you pick. When I was in school the same group that took pics for the annual did our senior snaps. Cost was $25.00.

Whatever they charge now, I'm sure that it is way overpriced. When my kids had their senior pics done I purchased a small package and I still have plenty left. In a few years you may realize that it's not such a big deal. Save your money for those college graduation celebrations.

my package was like $300+ but they range from about 50 just for the pfoors that are not water marked, to over $300.
but just to take the pics and get the wartermarked proofs ranges fom like $8-$18.
when i say watermarked, i mean they have the picture company's logo on it so that u can not try to copy the pics.

It's SENIOR CITIZENS!!!! Boomers, Older folks. It will cost you a way lot more than it cost us back in the day when we all graduated.

For some reason, senior pictures seem to cost upwards of $150 per package. I find that to be over-priced. Check and see if you are allowed to use your own photographer or photos for senior pictures. If you can, then use someone you know that does quality work--they don't have to be a professional to take good pictures. Make sure they take a lot of photos because only a few will turn out very good. I have a digital Canon EOS Rebel XTi with the standard lens and one additional lens and I was able to take my baby brother's senior pictures for him. If you want to see samples of the photos, here's a couple:

I have not a clue, Sweetie...we are senior citizens here, not seniors in high school...and I'm sure the cost has risen astronomically since any of us OR our children attended :-)

Honey, I think I paid about $100.00 when my kids were in high schools, but that is almost 18 years ago. Perhaps you would get better answers in homework help since the people are more your age.
Good luck
