This actually really surprised me. Athletes getting caught using muscle "enhancers" doesn't surprise me. This does. Coke went out in the early 90's, didn't it?

To be honest the accusation, true or false, is ridiculous. Cocaine use doesn't improve your game at all.. yes it enhances some confidence but seriously, you wouldn't be able to return a serve if you were high on it. Trust me I've tried it. She's rich and famous.. and i'm sure when she was out partying with friends, someone had it and she tried it. For all the anal people out there, the drug is around more than you realize and it's very social. The effects would wear off in a few hours or by morning.. and if she was still hungover from cocaine during a match, it would not help her one bit. As for the retirement, it's sad she is leaving this sport on this note. As great as Hingis was, she is no longer a threat against the likes of Henin, Sharapova, the Williams sisters, etc.
If they start accusing every competitive tennis player of drug use, what is someone like Henin doing? Bathing in cocaine? Give us a break. The news is not that shocking... it's as shocking as the media wants to make it.

I doubt she used it. Even if she did the WTA shouldn't be able to suspend someone for it. Cocain doesn't make you perform better it makes you perform worse. I hate that she is retiring because of this (although I would think her injurys have alittle something to do with it). Hingis is toying with my emotions I was so happy when she came back it was great for tennis now she is gone again.

I was surprised i don't know any athletes nowaday using cocaine. It sounds like she's insane and just completely screwed up her mind!

people still sniff coke unfortunately. the usually add it to sxxual encounters to get all freeky. it was never "in" in my book
