Yes there are still "sweat shops". They exist in poor countries where any amount of money is considered good money. Whether these are bad or not is the subject of much debate. The conditions these people work in are horrible. But starving to death because you can't afford food is also horrible.

Yes, many companies in America import things made by people in sweatshops. A lot of them are in China and India, because these countries are trying to develop rapidly but do not have the policies in place to prevent sweatshops from running and implicitly encourage sweatshops because they help their economies expand. You can also find sweatshops in Burma/Myanmar and other developing countries.

Almost all the clothes you wear were made in sweatshops in the Far East: India, China, Thailand and other countries. Gap just recently closed some of them (see at http://www.globalenvision.org/library/8/639/)

Oh I'm sure you'll find something with inflation going up and people being greedy. But there is a loophole.Pay min. wage, give raises once in a while to keep people. No benefits. And work people hard. Then theres the foreighners.People comming into the country that will work for even less.Companies sending there trade to other states for less payroll cause people from other countries are willing to work for it.Its legal, its just like a sweatshop.Work till you drop(literally) ,for less.
