I went to the doc on wed and he said that i am all the way thinned out, and only 1 cm dialated... ive had lower back pain that has been constant for the last week, its even getting hard to go up the steps. I woke up this morning with a severe leg cramp, and i get cramping occasionally off and on. They come and go... sometimes the contractions are regular and other times they arent. my doc doesnt think i am going to make it to the day that i am induced which is suppose to be the 13th of Nov. Is there anything else i should look for to know that labor is coming?

It is true that you can be dilated while still walking around and having labor pains. Look for your mucus plug coming out, your water breaking or leaking, and contractions that are 5 minutes or less apart. You might not last until your due date but I assure you, you will know when it's time for baby to come! Good luck and congrats!

There's not way to tell when labor will start, even if you're having many pre-labor signs. These can happen weeks before the actual birth.
Leg cramps, dilation and effacement and on and off contractions are all very normal in the weeks leading up to labor. Your body is getting ready.
The way to know for sure is when contractions are regular and constant and increase in intensity. Resting or changing positions won't make them go away. That's real labor.
All the best to you!

Everything that you're feeling is normal for late pregnancy. It could be hours, days, or weeks. There's really no way to predict it.
Just know that you will eventually have a spell of contractions that won't ease up or go away, they will increasingly become closer together and more uncomfortable, and you'll know. It's rare that a women does not know that labor has started or they deliver so quickly that they didn't have time to make it to the hospital. But if you're ever not sure, call your doctor, that's what they are there for.
Good luck, and congrats in advance!

This isn't what you want to hear i'm sure but...labor will come when it's ready. I have had 5 kids now and I walked around thinned out and 1-2 cm dilated over a week, I was at 3-4 cm and still walking around so when i got to hospital it went fast, but you just can't determine by what you're experiencing now how long it might be. The only encouragement I can offer you is no woman has ever STAYED pregnant forever. :-) good luck

Contractions feel like horrible, horrible period cramps, times one thousand!!! You cannot walk through them, and they do not go away if you, say, lay on your side. Your uterus will still tighten, but it will be horribly painful, in line with your belly button.
Obviously your water breaking is a sign. Losing your mucous plug is a sign; however, you could lose that weeks before labor acutally begins. Nesting can be a sign. I have heard of slight cramping with back pain..
Don't be afraid to call your doctor with anything, that is what they are there for.
Best wishes and congratulations!

It extremely varies. some women persons do no longer even adventure the nesting instinct. in specific situations it may ensue some weeks in the previous hard artwork starts off. For me, it happened around a week in the previous hard artwork with my first, around a million-2 weeks with my 2nd, and with my third...nicely, i do no longer probably think of i spotted on account that we've been contained in the attitude of packing as much as pass so i became exceptionally busy besides! Lol! you're so on the fringe of the top that i'd anticipate hard artwork quickly. have you ever had the different signs and indications that tough artwork will initiate quickly? Cervix thinning and dilating, infant engaged on your pelvis, contractions, or dropping your mucous plug? you're so on the fringe of the top that it will no longer be long now! terrific of luck and congratulations!
