My seven month old eats whatever we eat. He HATES baby food. Mind you, our food is not packaged. We feed him salmon, eggs, veggies, chicken and rice soup, gumbo, etc. We are not into salt in out family either. He chokes very little. My first daughter seemed to ALWAYS gag and we didn't start feeding her our food until she was like 10 months. Some kids are different...just watch her closely. They can usually get the food back up themselves. I know it freaks you out though!

Well u could always get some baby cereal and mix it in with the veggies that way it is thicker. I know that my daughter never ate stage 3 cause we just went straight to feeding her whatever we were at about 7 months she is 11 months on Nov 4. We have not found that she is allergic to anything yet but we do try not to give her things with alot of seasonings seeing she is still a baby and it could upset her stomach. u could always try to make ur own food for her. It would be thicker and sometimes it can be healthier. Hope this helps

You can probably start some table foods, but just cut them up small and don't add any salt or butter (or very little) I would watch giving her anything spicey, too. You can give her the Gerber meat sticks just cut them up. Or the meat dices. I used those alot but I also gave them soft dices of chicken or ham that I had cooked. Dices may help with the gagging. the thick dinners can sometimes gag them. any soft cooked vegtables, toast, pasta, just cut them all up, make sure everything is soft (some meats can be "chewy") chopped, mashed. limit the salt, butter, & spices. You can still use the Gerber veggies for the times you don't have time to make some for her. Gerber Cereal, or she may even be able to eat oatmeal just make it thin. She still needs at least 24 oz of formula or breast milk till she is 12 months.
I gave mine very little of "whatever we were eating" at that age. If we were having Spaghetti then the sauce is too spicey, most meats or too hard for a baby to chew, I would sometimes give them the veggies we were having or mashed potatoes without salt or butter.
they shouldn't have any eggs or fish at that age, either. (one of your answers gave these 2 examples) you can give eggs at 1 yr and fish at 2 yrs due to higher possibility of the baby developing allergies
also-keep offering the fruits, she will probably eat them at some point.
good luck

You can give her lots of different foods. If you are worried about her choking, just watch her. Make sure the food is cut up small enough. Our twins are 10 months old and they eat pretty much anything we eat. If she loves veggies, try giving her some cooked carrots, peas, beans...
Gerber puffs are a good little snack for them.

Why not just mash up what ever you as a family are having, that way you know exactly what she is eating. That way you can give her the right sized lumps that she can cope with and she is then eating the same as the rest of the family. Much cheaper than buying jars all the time, and she will learn sociable eating habits and good manners.

If you want to keep her on the Stage 2 foods mix it with cereal to thicken it upto your preffered consistency...If she wants to chew try giving her a few snacks like Gerber fruit puffs or Gerber biter biscuits.

we gave my nephew hot dogs at 9 months. we took the skin off and cut them very small and only gave him 1 piece at a time. Try canned peas and carrots.
You need to watch baby with anything you give them don't just give them food then leave because their is the chance of choking.

Yes, give her table food in small, soft pieces. There's no need for the "stage" foods (that's just a marketing gimmick.) What you fix everyone else in the family for dinner is just fine and healthier for her.

That is good that she wants to chew, give soft and small tiny chunk foods that she can't choke on...they don't have to be from a jar.
