Yes and yes.

Forgiveness is not for the benefit of the one who caused the harm.

It is for the benefit of the victim.

Forgiveness is not a feeling. Forgiveness is an act of WILL. It is a decision. Plain and simple. It is a decision to move forward regardless of the acts of others.

Forgiveness is not acceptance or or condoning of any behavior. It matters not if the person who caused the harm is aware of or repentant for the act.

Forgiveness frees the person who was harmed in ways that neither time nor therapy can ever hope to achieve.

Should you? That is not the right question. You had it right at can you. Its very possible to forgive someone who has not shown remorse. Christ did it...
Its just a matter of when. Depending on how large the crime against you was, you may be able to forgive others sooner then others.
But yes. It is possible to forgive those who have not apologized. There isnt anything wrong with it, but you should consider talking over how they made you feel.
But also consider this, if you do not forgive them and you hold a grudge against them...doesnt that make you stupe to their level? Two wrongs do not make a right, and holding a grudge isnt right. If you forgive the person as well, it may make them feel guilt.
Over all, its up to you, and how you truely feel.

Yes you can but only so that you will not hold any bitterness in your heart. That means, you have no contact with them, no opportunity to do it again, no social responsibility with them at all. This is for your sake not theirs. Socially and mentally they no longer exist the way they use to, as far as you are concern, no remorse?; don't talk to me or come near me. Good luck

yes, and yes

forgiving someone Is to benefit your well being and mental status not the individual. I try to practice forgiveness as much as possible, because it takes too much effort and energy to stay upset with someone.

You should forgive them not for themselves but for yourself. Know that they knew no better because that is all they were taught. When you learn forgiveness of others you learn to forgive yourself!
