Yes, but sometimes they will simply "star" it without posting a response. (I do that myself often.)
However, if I was truly curious about any of their actual posts, all I have to do is go to their individual profile or my network Q&A. In fact, that's the reason why I'm even answering this question to begin with. ;-)

Yeah, I do it if the question is interesting to me. I like to see what my contacts/online friends are thinking. It helps me to learn a little about them.

Of course! My contacts are my contacts for a reason - they write really interesting or amusing things.
