I have WIFI on both machines, and a wired broadband conection on the PC the network will basically be the PS3 accessing the net via the PC?

MY PS£3 and my PC recognises another WIFI router elsewhere in the apartment building, but I want it to commucnitcate with my PC only. I cant seem yo get my PC discoverable? What settings are there?(UK)

Well, You can do this. You have to setup an AD-HOC network (not sure the PS3 allows that but maybe) Ad-hoc is a peer to peer protocol which allows your computer to communicate with another "computer" directly without an access point.

Then on your computer which is connected to the net you have to setup Internet Connection Sharing which will allow the "other: computer to connect through it.

By default your adapters will be set to "infrastructure" which is a "receiver" for an Access Point only. You need Ad-Hoc to turn your computer into an AP.

Just get a network adaptor and thats all.Also read the instructions in the manual about networking stuffs
