Although I always prefer the book than the movie but there are some SK movies that are very good on screen. These are few of it:
Shawshank Redemption (although lots of changes in facts there)
Stand By Me(which I think is a little better than the book)
IT (both book and movies are exceptionally scary)
The Green Mile (I cried after I read the book and after I watch the movie).
Misery (both book and movie are good as well)
Dolores Claiborne is a total upset as I really enjoyed reading the book!

I hate Stephen King but I do love the Shining. His books always go so crazy at the end if you can get to the end.

The only ones I can provide is the miniseries IT and The Stand.
Stephen King books are so intricate and layered that theatrical films cannot do them justice. The closest anything comes to being faithful to his books are the miniseries.

to tell you the truth I refuse to watch a Stephen king movie thats based on the book, I am always so disappointed, the books are so much better and the movies never compare or have their depth or scare factor. Just like IT the book had me terrified and there was A LOT left out in the movie

No. They were all awful compared to the books. And I know cuz I read them all and saw them all. You should READ the Dark Tower Series. It is amazing. Then read Insomnia.
If you want a good movie to watch, I know of 3 of them.
1. Pirates of the Caribbean-Curse of the Black Pearl
2. Pirates of the Caribbean-Dead Man's Chest
3. Pirates of the Caribbean-At World's End

The Shining is still the best but "Carrie" comes in 2nd for it's campy fun in three reasons:
* The tampon stoning
* Pigs Blood
* The annihilation of a high school

The Green Mile is really good. And though many people think it's lame, Cujo is a scary movie.
And Carrie is a great movie too. Sissy was the best actress to play Carrie.
