According to Jack Straw MP, who was Home Secretary when Mr Menezes was murdered, the victim was NOT in the country illegally, and he should know, being directly responsible, at that time, for all immigration.

Since when is opposing the shooting of innocent people a "narrow view of the world?"

Has anyone for one minute considered what this man's mother went through? Yes he was a human being with a mother, siblings, friends. What if it was your son boarding the tube that day? Rest assured, it could have been any one of us.

Whistle and Hand cuffs and a truncheon was suffice for the good old time Bobbies. Now its CS gas.Tazers etc. They have all this state of the art technology ,HeliCOPters with infra red and many other things to assist them to arrest Kids with penknives.Whilst they are getting away with unlawful killing of an innocent member of the public who as far as I can see was running to catch public transport?.They are surely answerable for there misconduct. If we shot anyone we would be on a murder charge. They need to get out of their cars and do some good down to earth Policing. There is obviously 2 sets of rules. Its all wrong. It does not take much to work out that the officer who shot the gun is responsible for the death of the dead guy. They spend tax payers money on investigations when they should have been 100% sure before shooting any shots.

Our British Police are amongst the best in the world, with respect mate you do not know what you are talking about, take a look outside your obviously narrow view of the world and ask yourself, the weapons issued to our police are issued under strict guidelines and rigorously enforced.tragic though recent events are, how many shootings by the police are carried out, in the UK then take a look at some other countries where the police are armed every day, would you like to see that/ No, well I can assure you neither would the police forces in the UK.

When I joined the police I was against routine arming of the police. To this day my view hasn't changed.

I was possibly the worst shot my force had ever seen on the range, and was very quickly advised that I might do well in traffic.

Leave guns to the experts, and don't forget that it wasn't the actual trigger pulling officer who made the mistake, it was the officer giving the commands, and that officer didn't have a gun.

And I would be safe in betting that you are someone who has an interest in crime, criminal activity, or want to know that no one has a gun so you can bully them. Think about how stupid it would be for everyone if the police have no guns and the bad guys do (which is much more common in the UK now). Who will protect the weak? You. Doubt that. Usually people who rag on the police are those who have an interest in lawlessness. Millons upon Millions have never had a bad contact with police.. But you have? Hmmm, must the coppers fault.

Yes, bring back the bank robbers with sawn off shotguns and fast Jags. Let the streets be run by those who shoot pregnant women because of a minor car crash. Let the hoody on a bike shoot a little boy.

“Hatred does not cease through hatred but by through love alone. This is a universal rule.” - Buddha

By carrying guns the police are perpetuating the cycle of violence and hate (treating the symptoms and not the cause). To truly stop crime we must create compassion and understanding :)

Love and Kindness to all.
