Hmm, I think so, BUT.

I believe there are more openly bisexual women than openly lesbian women.

Like there are more openly gay men versus openly bisexual men.

So, homosexuality wise it seems like it's men over women, but bisexuality seems to be a separate issue. But this is all speculation on my part.

No, there should be more lesbians than gay men.

It's a fact that there are more women alive today than men. The division is roughly 51% women to 49% men in the world population. Since no country has a foolproof census, these figures are estimates, but are widely accepted as factual. Assuming they are true, and that the percentage of male vs. female homosexuals is the same, then there should be more lesbians alive today than gay men. There are any number of other factors that would tip the figures further to the "more lesbians" argument, including male vs female mortality and HIV infection rates which are consistently low among lesbians. Ultimately, it seems clear that the trend should be for higher numbers of lesbians. It should be close, but definitely more women than men.

In my opinion it's not a contest and it's not like one side is going to make a difference by being bigger then the other.
I'm going to say that the homosexual groups are equal. and no ones keeping tabs on how many homosexual couples there are, so it's impossible to get an exact count.

I'm afraid I can't give an exact count Happy. However if you are observant you will notice that woman are more comfortable touching, hugging, and kissing one another. In my wide array of experiences I would say there are, but I just can't say for sure.Even in pornography movies of which I suspect you've viewed your share, you will notice far more often it is two women who are experiencing sexual pleasure. So to summarize your question, I am not in a research position to make a judgement. But if I was pressed for an off-handed statement I would say yes.
