yes if you went into labour, but the dr's would try to delay this by giving you something which helps try and stop the labour.

But if you mean you are thinking of having your baby at 26weeks then you are crazy as it too unsafe to even think about having your baby at 26wks.

I had my son at 26 weeks. He did stay in the nicu for 3 months. He weighed 2 lbs and 1 1/2 ounces. His body weight went up and down. He had got as low as 1 lb 12 ounces. Its a tough road ahead of you if you have your child this early. I had never seen a premature baby until i had my son. It was the scariest time of my life.He was so tiny and his skin was very transparent. There were days that we would get great news then the next day not such good news. We did almost loose him 2 or 3 times but god helped him and us through it and my son is 10 years old today. He does have adhd and they say that alot of preemies end up with this. So that was the only thing that is wrong with him now. When he was in the nicu there were 2 babies there at the same time and they both weighed 18 ounces. And when we went back over there to visit the nurses like 2 months after my son came home both of them babies had survived and went home. You just have to do a whole lot of praying and have faith. Good luck to you.I hope this helps. Of course ppl say they dont recommend it but in like my case its something that could not have been helped. Dont noone want there child being born early cause of all the struggling but sometimes you dont have a choice.

Babies are not considered full-term until 37-42 weeks gestation. Babies born prior to 37 weeks face multiple health related issues due to being premature.

Babies can survive being born as early as 24-25 weeks with months of NICU care. The further along your pregnancy is (and thus how mature the baby is) increases baby's chances of not having problems. There are extremely rare cases where babies have survived being born prior to the 24 week mark, but these are the exception, not the rule.

Babies born prior to 30 weeks are often on a ventilator and will receive food and antibiotics via IV as baby's system is not mature enough to breathe independently or to ingest milk.

I believe there is a 75% - 85% survival rate for babies born at 27 weeks (I assume the percentage goes down somewhat for babies born a week earlier than that). Serious complications are obviously a possibility when a baby is born this early. Babies' lungs aren't quite ready to breathe on their own at this point, so I imagine all babies born at this time would have to be on a ventilator.

The age of viability is 24 weeks. However babies born so early face many health challengs some of which are life long. Every day you keep your baby inside, the better chances s/he has.

If you are concerned because you are at risk of preterm labor, go to bed, lay on your left side and drink lots of water. Keep off your feet as much as possible.

If you are just tired of being pregnant, hang in there. Pregnancy isn't forever, it just feels that way.

They have a chance at that point, but I don't know why you would want to. If you are worried about something you should contact your Dr. right away. I am 26 weeks and pray she stays put for the long run, but sometimes we don't have the control. good luck and I hope all is OK.

you can but there is a very slim chance that the baby will make it...i would definitely wait until about 30 wks--there is a greater chance of the baby making it if you are at a neonatal hospital.

Do you need to have the baby ? or are you just tired of being pregnant?

A baby is usually ready by 32 weeks with a good chance of survival. Before that it is risky and they would be very premature

Giving birth at such an early gestation could possibly cause serious respiratory problems for the infant.

Well...a baby as a chance at survival at that age, but I wouldn't recommend it by any means.
