I gained almost 60 pounds.
I was 126 when i got pregnant, 123-126 depending, and by the hight of my pregnancy I was 172 i think? After delivery I was down to 155, and after the first four months of breast feeding I was down to 140.
Iam 9 months after birth and down to 133. All I did was eat chocolate and breast feed. :) Mind over matter.
Its not genetics either, my mom and aunts are fat, my grammas were fat, and so are my cousins. Just dont stress it, and it will come off.
But breast feeding is certainly the best thing there is.

I only gained about 32 lbs total with my son and lost 27 within the first week after birth. Unfortunately I slowly regained much of it over the next two years. It doesn't sound like you'll have a lot of "extra" weight that will stay after the baby just try to keep active. It was hitting winter by the time I was getting over my c-section so I spent too much time inside and I had cut down my work load drasticaly as a horseshoer. My only excuse is that I got lazy.
That's really more of what you should keep in mind. There's not a ton you can do over what you gain (unless you're truly gaining too much through obvious reasons) just have some ideas for keeping busy afterwards and you'll do great. Congrats and good luck

It all depends on how active you are and how hard you push yourself to loose the weight. I believe that you are 22 right? I am 20 years old, have gained almost 40 pounds and I know that we are within a day of each other week wise - I'm 31 weeks 6 days today - and I have been told that being young and being active helps when it comes to losing weight after birth. Also, if you plan on breastfeeding - I am not - it is also supposed to help you loose the baby weight faster. I think that with those combined and having faith in yourself and having a goal and achieving the goal all will help in loosing the weight. I wouldn't stress about it, I'm sure that you'll bounce back, I know that I will....Best of luck to you!! :)

i am not going to lie, some people bounce back better than others. if you were healthy and active before the pregnancy, chances are you will have no trouble. remember first of all, babies are bigger now. most are 7-8lbs. mine were 9! you will probably lose 20 or so just delivering the baby. then ther is all that extra fluid and blood your body had produced during the pregnancy, i am no dr. but that must take some time to get back to normal. with my first it took along time to lose, and my second, w/in a month or 2 i was back at prepregancy weight.
(try nursing. many believe it helps u lose weight faster. I highly recommend it. it is hard at first, but after2-3 weeks you'll see how easy it really is. it helps shink your uterus and you burn calories.)
good luck, mommy

You will lose the weight if you are committed to doing it. Breastfeeding burns a whole lot of calories which is an extra bonus. I am very short, and curvy to begin with, so it has taken me longer than others. I think that the main thing you really have to think about is taking care of yourself by eating healthy and getting exercise. When you are in the first months of the baby's life, it tends to be all about the baby and that's when you should be most diligent about trying to eat healthy, not just grabbing the nearest thing because you forgot to eat a meal. (Believe me, it will happen!)
They say nine months on, nine months off--but that definitely doesn't apply to everyone. I did slim down a little after giving birth, but I didn't actively seek eating healthy foods and now I finally am. I joined weight watchers to help me get the rest of the weight off. It has helped me lose weight, given me more confidence, and motivated me to take care of myself, which can be hard when you are taking care of your family, too.
Try to watch what you eat this holiday season, people will be forcing food on you, trust me. I gained nine pounds in one week because of all the Christmas parties. It's hard to say no, and you feel like you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
(Now, I say no all the time!) Congratulations on your baby!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

Breastfeeding is THE best way to shed pounds after birth. You burn an extra 500 calories a day! Plus mixed with a healthy diet and a lot of activity you should be fine. With both of my kids i lost more weight than i gained, i breastfed them both for the recommended 12 months.
Good Luck, it is a lot of hard work, just stay motivated!

My best friend, who is normally 130-140lbs, didn't care what she ate when she was pregnant with her 1st child and she gained 100lbs. And she lost it ALL. Her second child she was VERY careful with, she walked everyday, sometimes more than once a day. And she ate all organic food and was very healthy. She STILL gained 100 lbs with her 2nd child. And she now weighs around 135 and looks great. I wouldnt worry about 40 lbs! Thats silly. You will lose it. Breast feeding helps. Also try to get into a good eating routine, like not eating after 6pm. I am 6 months pregnant and have gained 18 lbs. I "drink my food" and "eat my drinks" a lot. Eat lots of soup, drink v8 or smoothies. and always drink a glass of water before you eat anything.

I gained 14 pounds with my first pregnancy and I was back in my regular jeans when I left the hospital... i am a bad example... i think i will gain more with this pregnancy, as long as you have stayed active and walk or do moderate exercise after you should be fine. remember it takes 10 months to put it there is should take 10 months to take it off.

I have two kids ages 6 and 2. I gained a lot of weight after each, but lost it all after a few months and got even skinner than I was before I started. If you are planning on breast feeding, it helps some. At least it did in my case.
