Theoretical physicists talk about many more space dimensions --- think of the three dimensions being twisted around other dimensions that we are now incapable of sensing. They consider time as a dimension and if there are more space dimensions there would probably be multiple time dimensions.
This is more than science fiction. Experiments observing black holes tell us that our current understanding of physical dimensions is incomplete. As particle accelerators, telescopes, and computers advance, we will find more paradoxes and eventually more answers.

I don't know about 18, but I'll give you one more. Time is a dimension, and we travel along it at a constant speed.

We are only limited by our small minds. I think the universe is more like a diamond with vast dimensional properties.
