It all depends on how the money is left to him. If the family was smart, they left it in a blind trust that could not be touched by you.

If it was left in cash or tangible assets then you could attack his estate.

In most states, child support is a direct result of your combined incomes. From there you can also asses additional incomes.

Personally, if he is not behind, then why do you want more money? Just because you can? How will this help your child?

In my opinion, the courts empower women with child support and custody far beyond what they should, and your question reflects this.

Good luck.

they can and will do anything that they want to do in court but if you arent in arreaers and they do that wihtout a court order then i would hire the dirtiest lawyer and sue you back to the stone ages because it really amounts to legal embezelment of HIS money and that does suck but there are ways around it i think if i was him i dont think i would talk to any one without my attorney present because of the money grubbing people out there it cost me 500 buck for my attorney to tie up my child support so much that they havent been able to get me into court for about 5 yrs which is great since my support payments were being raides every year and i was still makeing the same money and its taken me that long to pay the arrears plus the interest that im sure my kids dont get the state keeps that and isnt an inheritance just that it isnt an income i hope or if its that rich look out poor guy

is someone wants to have their child support raised because the ex received an inheritance, they are totally greedy!

i'm sure that if my ex received an inheritance, it would in some way benefit my child, without me having to stick my hand out like a vulture....

It could affect it but it would benefit him. Because if I was your baby's daddy and I inherited money and knew that my baby's mother was trying to get more money out of me, I would file for Joint Custody (if he doesn't have it already) or Sole Custody. Usually when calculating child support, it based on your employment.

It depends on the state.Thats not income so it has nothing to do with child support. In Texas NO ONE can touch it.It doesn't figure into divorce settlements or child support. The baby's momma is a greedy bitc*!

I hope not. That isn't income, it's not taxable and it was meant for his personal use.

now maybe if he owes arrears they can get some for that but not to increase his current obligation. That's not fair.

geez, pay the darn child support.

i calculated, i'm spending about 1800$ per month on my stepdaughter. her dad bitches about 400$ he pays to my wife for child support, like he wants to know where the money is going.

it's your child, for God's sake.

recalculate and pay the darn money.

Yes all your earnings can be looked at for child support. If you are getting more dough so are your children.
