Writers aren't actually inducted into the Hall. Each year the J.G. Taylor Spink award is given to a writer who is honored at the induction ceremony, with the voting done by the same BBWAA that elects players, execs, etc. However, the giving of the award does not mean the writer is really a member of the HOF.

Writers don't belong in the HOF. They are not interested in the facts or the actual game, only sensationalism and gossip intended to incite and sell papers.
