Each wavelength of light,(color) bends at a slightly different angle which allows us to see color. All colors of light mixed together makes white light. All colors of paint mixed together makes black. Absence of light is black, absence of color is white. Confused? Color of light is pure, true color. Color of pigment is a reversal of what's really there. The sky isn't blue, it's all colors except blue, which it reflects or doesn't absorb.
