Do you think your pet would blackmail you because of the things they know? Would this change the way you feel about your pet? Would you keep your pet?
Imagine Spot coming up to you and saying "Hey cheif, get off your lazy butt and let me outside, need to take a wicked number 2 and I don't have opposable thumbs to open the door, and if you don't, I'll tell Trina about your OTHER woman, kapeesh?"

My dog would probably talk a mile a minute. I doubt she'd shut up. She'd also be a whiner, I can just tell. Argh!! Thank God she doesn't talk.

And my dog's to inlove with me to black mail me, unless I don't giver her her cheese sausage, Man does she loves those things.

No I don't think my pet would blackmail me, because of whatever thinks my pet might happen to know about me.
I doubt that this would change the way I feel about my pet. Yes I most likely would keep my pet. If my pet did that. I would be putting my pet in check, telling her not to mention certain things at certain times. I think I would have to put her in check and make her understand certain things. I'm the master not the other way around, and that is the way it will stay.

My pets communicate effectively without speaking. If you are in tune with your dog and or cat then the spoken word is not necessary. It would be interesting to hear their perspective and I sure would like to know why my puppy only ate one of my favorite shoes a couple of years ago, LOL. Now, I can look at my dog and know what she is thinking, and I keep the good shoes up high on the shelf.

Since the beginning of time dogs have lived with humans and they protect and love us no matter what, my favorite quote is "if you want loyality buy a dog", I think Truman said it when he lived in Washington DC. It's a good quote. I doubt a dog, who loved it's owner would hold a grudge, it doesn't seem to be in thier nature. As far as ratting you out regarding indiscretions in interpersonal relationships, unless your wife is feeding the dog, the dog would totally be loyal to the one who feds him, you are screwed.

Interesting question. Good luck with your answers.

The only time I'd be upset with her is when my husband is petting her. She wants to be the Alpha female. He'll let her up on the bed and rub her stomach. I've come in there before and I swear if she could speak she'd be saying, "Go peel me a grape, Beta female," as she lays on her back, all four paws in the air, eyes closed as if she's in ecstasy.

My dog is the sweetest! She would never blackmail me. I would love her just the same and I would never get rid of her. It would be pretty funny to hear what she had to say. My cats on the other hand....would probably blackmail me. Cats are mean like that.

i've thought about thsi before and i know what my cats would say! mickey would be trying to keep peace, sashs would be telling on everyone, bing would be screaming at everyone and getting mad and picking fights, maxwell would tell everyone to shut up, tilly would cry for food 24/7 and snickers would be asking people to tell her how pretty she is, and bragging, lol. my lovebird, kiwwi, would be asking for treat sticks and attention, and my hamster would be silent. nothing would change with him, he is happy with everything! animals talking would be very interesting, i woulndt get rid of them. but im sure iw would be annoyed after a while. its best how it is right now, i would only want them to talk for one day to see what its like.

I don't think my pets being able to talk would have anything worse to say than a small child...They'd have to come out with PETS say the Darnedest Things.

Well, my cats would complain about the dog, the dog would ask why the cats are always picking on him, and the bird would ask why we're so mean to her for not having her on our shoulders 24/7. Other than that, they wouldn't have any dirt on us. :op

Oh, my cat is really loyal to me. I don't think she would go telling my secrets...unless I forgot to feed her!

I would keep her. She already can talk a little (like those cats on YouTube); she can say "Mama" and "No," and we're working on "Hello!" :-)
