I love an huge open fire in the winter...
Nice fluffy rug and me and my husband have hours of fun in front of it!!!!!!!!

There's nothing like a real fire!! I got one of those gas fireplaces and I hate it and never use it !! We have a fire pit outside and in the summer months it's wonderful to sit out there with friends drink a few beers and talk!! Music playing in the back ground!! OMG!! I miss the warmth of summer!!

The real one seems to be more fun.. however I live in Los Angeles County inland and theres rarley a need for heat at my house.. but when I go up in the mountains.. I love a log fire.. in the pit..

well if you put it that way they are nice but there not when you have one give me a switch to press any day i hate having to go out a fetch the coal and all the dirt that goes with it and you can never win you either freeze coz its not that cold out but you need some heat inside or your melting and dont forget the expence of it coal is cheap infact in a bad winter it can cost £25 a week just to have heat and water

i too have an open fire, it's awesome, i love it in he winters coz it mesmerises me sends me to sleep.....thing i hate the most about it though is, cleaning it out the next day....i also have gas fires in the other rooms but in my living room is a nice big open fire place, cant wait to decorate it up for christmas, it's so festive

You naughty girl!!!! I prefer a real fire too with logs piled hight - well I have but to dream because I haven't got one only a realistic coal gas one!

I love the smell and sounds of a real wood fire. I don't like having to clean out the ash.

Well if you want good heat for you and your husband get real fire it cost less and its more better to watch

An open fire is lovely, and ever so romantic, but gas/electric is so much more convienient to keep clean etc.
