Hello Everyone! I drive a 98 Honda Civic and the winshield wipers just come on by themselves and I can't turn them off. It's really werid. They stay in the up position too they won't go down. I tried taking it to the shop and they said they have never heard of this problem before. What should I do? IT makes the car look tacky....

Honda had a service technical bulletin on this condition way back when that said the condition is caused by a broken reed switch in the windshield wiper motor. The motor has to be replaced to fix the problem.

your description matches the condition to a "T". Basically, there is an internal short in your wiper motor that causes the motor to continue to run and the wipers to stop at random places on the windshield.

hope that helps
