I have always loved going to the Punalu'u Black Sand Beach on Hawaii, when I was a kid I loved that you could play in it all day and still be clean with no sand on your skin at the end of the day, I also love watching the sea turtles on the beach there.

Also on Oahu there is a beach on the north west shore, when I was a kid you had to walk through the trees to get there and when you broke out onto the beach you were always all alone, there were cliffs on both ends of the beach which isolated it. My family used to spend whole days there by ourselves in the sand and surf, watching the waves splash over the lava formations off shore. It was the most beautiful place I can remember. ANd the best thing was there were never any tourist, it is rare to find an isolated beach anymore.

Fort Desoto Park in St. Petersburg, FL. It's on an island in the Gulf of Mexico. The sand is white. The water is crystal clear. Many days, you can watch the dolphins. There are parking and facilities because it's a park, but they are quite some distance from the beach, which makes the beach enjoyable.

Green Sand beach on the Big Island (hawaii)---required a 2 mile hike or off-road vehice to get go it, went swimming with sea turtles and as the name implies the sand is green!!!

runner up:
Race Point Beach on Cape Cod--- with an off-road vehicle permit you can drive your 4X4 down the Cape Cod National Seashore(60 miles of undeveloped sandy shoreline) and find your own stretch of beach, once there sit and watch pods of grey seals swim by all day and have a bon-fire at night(as long as you get a fire permit from the ranger station)

I really like Cornish beaches. On the Liskerd when you walk round the coastal path, you come across secret beaches with little bits of history connected with them. Rough interesting beaches that seem to draw you into them selves from the present to a time gone by.

There are many...Seychelles, Maldives, Cape Verde, Dominican Republic, St Lucia, Tobago, Dubai...but my favourite was the Grande Anse Beach in Grenada. It's miles and miles of sand with a warm azure sea gently lapping the shore.
