I made a Parody video of my workplace, everybody in it aggreed to being taped and came up with goofy fun skits. I placed in on youtube but I did not use my company name nor did I link it to the name of my workplace On the public domain so that no one would find it, the address was leaked to the Owners of the company, I was asked to take it down and then I was terminated for copyright Infringement of using the company logo ( video taping the front door ie logo on it ) also I was told my parody of certain departments was offensive to others and that it was not funny
However, there was another parody video made of the same nature by another employee of this same company that did use the company name over the youtube and is regonized as so when looking up the video, these individuals were not terminated nor even repremaned in anyway.
Is this copyright infrngment that I unknowingly taped the logo?
What are my rights?
Is this Discrimantion?
Please Help, what can I do?

Sorry I did not mention that the supervisors were fully aware of the other video's exsistance, for 2 months this was also an unauthorized video done without the permission of the owners, and that person was casually asked to remove it but I on the other hand was terminated.

The only thing you can do is to look for another job.
It does not matter if other companies allow this. Your company did not. You should not have filmed in their office without their permission.

Is this copyright infringement that I unknowingly taped the logo? - Yes. You are responsible for the content you create and publish. It is copyright infringement as the logo is not simply incidental to the video. If you take a video in Times Square you may or may not violate copyright, depending on how you use the video. That is why the exceptions are called fair use. Since your video was about the company it no longer falls under fair use.
What are my rights? - You have many, however nothing that will help you here.
Is this Discrimination? - Not based on the information you provided.
Please Help, what can I do? - Remove the video from UTube. It will not help you and may hurt you later. Update your resume, work on what you are going to say about this job and look for a new job. You have no case against them.

You did not have permission to record the company logo, by creating a skit that some may find offensive, it could be directly connected to the company. As an employee it is your responsibility to maintain a professional appearance at all times, like it or not you are associated with the company and anything you do perceived as bad, makes the company look bad.
Thats why the other individual wasnt terminated or reprimanded. you obviously knew the logo was on it, as I am sure you reviewed it prior to posting it.

Copyright infringement? I doubt it; otherwise nobody could take a picture of Times Square without being sued by every company whose logo was depicted.
On the other hand, most companies can fire you for any reason at all so long as they don't:
1) Discriminate against you for an unlawful reason (race, color, religion, sex and national origin); or
2) Breach your contract, if any.
Your rights are to go read the classifieds and get a new job.
Discrimination? Not unless they fired you for race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Sounds like you were in fact fired for unprofessional conduct.
You can always file with the EEOC and get them to investigate.
I have read your added information and my answer is unchanged.

If you didn't alter the logo, then yes, it is copyright infringment. You wouldn't win on that one. Your termination could be considered discrimination if the other employee's activities were discovered by management and the other employee was not terminated. If you believe you have been unfairly terminated, ask your unemployment agency about what recourse you may have. It may not be worth the fight - would you really want to work there after they have terminated you? It's possible their reaction was a knee-jerk one and you can ask for a meeting with the owners requesting a more complete explanation. You should be prepared at that meeting to provide them with the information about the other video made by the other employee. You should also be prepared to apologize.

Did you change the logo so that it wasnt exactly the same as the companies? If not then you don't have a case. If you did, then they were wrong to fire you and you can take them to court over it.
