They couldn't find my babies heartbeat at my 12 week appointment so they sent me to get an U/S that day, and the baby was doing great. It was measuring at 13 weeks, which is 5 days more than it should be, so I have a nice big healthy baby in me now. Don't stress out much about it. Congrats.

The dr couldn't find my baby's heartbeat either. My uterus is sooo tilted towards the back she couldn't pick it up. Instead a quick ultrasound showed the baby doing well. I'd ask for an ultrasound to reassure you. If your doctor wasn't worried then you shouldn't be either. Are you heavy in weight?? Heavier women have a harder time getting the first heartbeat read. If, heaven forbid, something happens the dr will do a D & C to remove the fetus and the materials through surgery. I hope this isn't the case. Good luck!!

So sorry to hear that. Yes , you should be easily able to detect a heartbeat at this stage. I am suprised they did not give you an ultrasound right away to see what was up. Maybe the placenta is in the front part of the uterus and that could make it hard to detect a heartbeat.
If the baby has passed away you will probably be given a D&C to clean out the uterus. I hope all works out for you.

try not to overstress as it may be nothing they don't always find the heartbeat on the first try and they usually do an internal sonogram if they feel there is a problem if in fact they have to remove the fetus it is done by dnc i am not personally familiar with the process nut you can look it up on www.webmd.com but usually if you have a miscarriage at this early stage the embryo will pass on its own hope everything turns out well for you and just remember that if you have a serious concern like this you can always go to an er for immediate answers

worry is an evolutionary habit conditioned into smart existence. devoid of worry, animals does no longer recognize the imminent threat of a predator or different aggressive animal. With too lots worry, animals does no longer have the means to calm down for a ideal meal devoid of being spooked by using some thing. So, to respond to your question, worry is an exceedingly organic, environmentally-conditioned reaction to stimuli.

That happened to me but i was only 10 weeks and i had had other complications...they had to do a d&c which is like getting vacuumed out when you have an abortion. it really sucks. hopefully though since you are further along and past the critical stage, when you go see this other doc they will find that the baby is ok. i hope everything works out for you...good luck.

The baby may have just been laying in a way that they could not pick up the heart beat. try not to stress and panic if they are worried then they will send you for a scan but it may just be to early to pick the heart beat up or the baby is laying in a way its hard to.

My nurse or doc's assistant, whatever her title was, couldn't find my daughter's heartbeat at one point and I knew something was wrong, I just knew. Then the doctor came in and found it with some difficulty. I would try not to be too stressed and negative about anything until you go to your appointment today. Best Wishes.
