I had constipation around my 36th week. It was so uncomfortable, I've never had to deal with it before so I was kind of clueless! I read to eat lots of fiber and keep hydrated. Well I was doing that too and it didn't help. Well- cereals with lots of fiber in them (like Special K for me) helped.
At my doctors visit he told me if it didn't go away in a day he would give me a pill and see if that helped. Well, luckily I didn't need that cuz for some reason it cleared up and I haven't dealt with it since. Maybe it was all the fiber finally getting into my system. If I were you, I would keep up with the veggies and water and ask your doctor next appointment. I know how uncomfortable it is. I'm sure he/she is more than willing to help!

It is all the hormones and the iron in the prenatals that are making you constipated. If you can tolertate the taste - try drinking some prune juice. Also - there is a cereal called Fiber One. It doesn't taster bad at all and one serving is 59% of your total fiber intake. Do not eat/ drink a ton of high fiber stuff all at once. You have to gradually up your fiber intake so that you don't get really gassy and loose stools.

Good luck - If you don't become regular you will develop himmroids(sp?)......
Not FUN!!

Constipation is thoroughly favourite in the time of early being pregnant. it fairly is a large nuisance nevertheless. sturdy issues to consume besides a team of bran that's a no-brainer, yogurt, prunes, raisins, watermelons, and clean pineapple. If that doesn't artwork and you do no longer choose for according to week seek for advice out of your wellness care expert. She might have a laxative to prescribe yet you're able to in basic terms try this as a final motel. sturdy success! by using the way the constipation could go away fairly quickly yet sorry to declare will return on the tip of being pregnant back.

I have the same problem. I eat Raisin Bran cereal every morning! And it really helps! My doctor also told me I could take a stool softener, I take it when I take my prenatal vitamin. I think the combination has helped some. I won't say you'll be back to normal, but it is better!!

Good luck!!

Raisin bran makes me constipated! Get some metamucil. It is completely safe and it works. Prune juice might help too.
