I don't know his race, age, disability, or anything else...but if we are going to try the Jena 6, shouldn't this kid have his day in court?

The Jena 6 wanted to intentionally hurt their victim. The kid did not want to intentionally hurt anyone.

The Jena 6 were 16 and older. The boy is how old?

Lets look at the differences:
1. Different states. - Every states administers it's own laws and it's own criminal justice system. Even identical cases will be different in different states.
2. The Jena attacks were an intentional assault against another person. This case hinges around a kid "playing with matches".
3. The Jena attackers were in their late teens, the fire story does not state an age, however from what I heard the kid is a pre-teen. Issues with intent arise when you are dealing with someone very young.

If he is charged or not will depend on the evidence in the case. We have not seen any evidence yet. I was doing outdoor burning the day the fires started. (oh no, charge him too) at my home in Washington (ah, the rest of the story)

Different facts to consider.
1. Age of child vs. ages of the Jena 6

2. Child starting fire was accident (he was wrong, but did NOT plan on starting fire) vs. Jena 6 was NOT a accident. 6 people can NOT beat the crap out of one and claim it was a accident.

So considering those 2 major facts, NO the child should NOT be charged.

The kid is 10 years old. What would his race have to do with it at all? And how does Jena 6 have anything to do with the little monster playing with matches and torching half of Orange County??

I don't really think that the court's decision to not try the kid will have anything to do with race. #1 California is much more liberal #2 The kid who started the San Diego fires is much younger

The one story I heard said he was a pre teen. We don't normally charge children 12 and under as adults, no matter what the crime.

It really depends on his age. Are you going to charge a 5 yr old, or get them counceling? Think age... not race!
