"America does not torture people"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterboarding

although we have been doing this - please check wikipedia link-

So if we can torture, lie that we don't, and keep doing it, when you put your hand on your heart and sing the Star Spangled Banner at a ball game - are you including these ugly facts as part of your love of what the good ol USA stands for- Truth, fairness, justice, integrity, democracy?

or is it ok just to let it all fall apart and follow the animal instincts that lead us into the darkness...?

your call... what say you?

First, Mustagme must not be close to anyone who can be subjected to this form of interogation from the "other side". We are still living with the first term "They tried to kill my Daddy" mindset. We are becoming a warring nation while trying to prove how free and kind we are.

I say that Widipedia is not a credible source for information. ANYONE can write a wiki article, and then quote it as some sort of a fact. It could well have been a terrorist that wrote the article. That being said, in my 55 years of living, I have never known anyone to have been tortured like that in America. So, yes, I will still sing the Star Spangled Banner, and hold my hand over my heart..but I do believe Mr. Bush over an article in wikipedia, thank you very much.

I think you need to ask yourself what you would do if you felt you had control over stopping another terrorist, would you do what was necessary to prevent an attack? The U.S. does not torture people with the classic means necessary like incurring pain, etc. The tactics are sleep deprivation, water torture, etc. The person does not suffer lingering pain or physical ailments. The persons involved are suspected criminals and are not US citizens. They are NOT granted the same rights as US citizens under the constitution.
Personally, I can sleep just fine knowing my government is trying to protect my fellow citizens lives and the image of 9/11 is much more disturbing to me than anything "W" has done. There is a reason we have not been attacked since, something is working and attacks have been prevented...if some "torture" was involved, so be it...lives were saved.
And yes, I still put my hand on my heart, the banner makes me tear up and I am proud to be an American.

"W" doesn't nearly trouble me as much as the idiotic Americans who think we should use torture. Torture doesn't work because victims will say anything and everything they can just to make the torture stop. Also our country does not need to stoop to the level of terrorists.

I am very proud to be an American citizen. Our agents are doing everything possible to keep us safe. It is a dangerous job and we should be grateful. Anyone who doesn't think so is very unpatriotic.
