Newborn hair loss is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Babies often lose their hair during the first six months. A newborn's hormone levels drop right after birth, which can cause him/her to lose the hair he/she was born with.

Not every baby. My daughter lost only the hair in the front. She looked like she had a receeding hair line for the first two months of life. She was two weeks late and all sorts of hormonal things going on...something associated with babies that are late and the hormonal shift the mother experiences. She actually had a period the first three days of life, (very light), acne and hair loss. Poor thing! Another thing is that the fetal hair they develop all over their bodies in the womb falls out.

Not completely bald, but yes, if you have a hairy newborn that hair falls out in clumps and new hair grows in.
Its hormones, it happens to every baby :)

Yes,some times it does, but not all the time. Because it's just part of a process that all infants go through. Just know that all the hair does grow back, some faster than others. It's quite normal for babies to shed their hair after birth.

In the womb babies go through a stage where they are literally covered in hair all over. The black fine hair that many babies are born with are the "leftovers" of this fetal stage.
I'm a blonde. I was born with a headfull of black hair that fell out. My hair grew in fair a couple of months later.

My daughter was born with a headful of black hair. It eventually all fell out and was replaced with light brown hair. I don't know why it falls out, it just does.

My baby lost about half of his hair, but never all of it. It definitely thinned out a lot. It just happens as they grow and their bodies are adjusting.
