1) I do not see capitol punishment as being in opposition to anti-abortion views. The two are not related at all. Unborn babies are innocent and have committed no crime. The victim of abortion has done nothing to deserve its cruel fate. The criminal facing capitol punishment, on the other hand, most likely has lived a life of such depravity and viciousness that society has decided it is better off without that person alive. Agree or disagree with either position, but to compare the two is sophomoric.
2) Gay people already have all the rights that straight people have. A gay woman can marry a man and a gay man can marry a woman. We deny them nothing. To say otherwise is a misnomer. Also, if you are gay in this country and can't figure out how to provide for your partner and portect what you consider to be your joint property legally, well, that is your problem. It can be done. Everyone needs to understand that just because some people choose lifestyles that are outside the norm does not mean that society should pass laws protecting that behavior.
3. The best way to improve the lives of people in this country is to allow them to spend THEIR money the way they want to. (Repeal the income tax!) Throwing government money at a domestic issue has never solved anything. Example: War on Poverty declared under LBJ in the mid to late 1960's. The poverty rate in this country hasn't budged one iota since then. At the same time the best way to improve the lives of people in Iraq is by freeing their country of despots and radicals who would lead them down the path of destruction. This will cost us a good chunk of change, but if we care about freedom in the world, we'll do it.

I am a conservative.
1. Abortion is a state issue. Constitution gives the federal government no such authority over it. Feds should not legalize it, nor criminalize it. Each state can decide based on its voters.
2. Capital punishment is a toss up. There is often not enough evidence to kill someone. However if there is SUCH OVERWELMING EVIDENCE, there is nothing wrong with removing a criminal who has taken lives. A baby has taken no life and in no way can be compared to a killer.
2. Gay marrage is a state issue. The Constitution gives the government no authority in that area. Each state can decide based on its voters.
3. We need to leave Iraq. We need to stop spending. Spending on people, is still spending. We need to leave more than Iraq, we need to leave the 700+ military bases we have around the world and come home. Then who knows, maybe we CAN Spend a bit more on helping folks in america! When the money is there, NOBODY is against that!
*Ron Paul (A REAL Conservative) Has these views also. Except he is ANTI death penalty.

Your lack of basic logic is astounding. One law, precept or idea stands on it's own. You mixed concepts with no connections.
1. Abortion is murder because it is the taking of a life for no good reason. The child has no say so in the matter. The right to life is protected in the Constitution. War is hell. If we did not fight wars, and win, we would all be dead or enslaved by now. It is done to protect our other constitutional right: liberty. The death sentence is a legal matter. A person who commits a heinous crime, by law, gives up his right to life. Christianity does not run government. Stem cell research is a good thing. Mr. Bush is not willing to spend government money on ""embryonic"" stem cell research.
Gay marriage is not necessarily bad. It is illegal. Heterosexual marriage is legal. Divorce is legal. Homosexuality is an aberration. It ain't normal. Homo marriage is a ploy to try to get unacceptable behavior to be mainstreamed. That idea won't fly.
3. Your question here is bizarre. The US budget is about 3 trillion dollars, annually. The money goes to social programs, government employees and infrastructure. The budget for Iraq is about 3 per cent of the the national spending. Fighting the war in Iraq is being done so you have the freedom to make up and post truly ignorant questions.

1) A question I ask myself is: if abortion is indeed murder, then why don't pro lifers call for the death penalty for doctors and women involved? Some do I suppose.
2) Disagree with premise, but I don't care if homosexuals are allowed to be married.
3) Disagree most. I think very often giving money to people in these situations ( a small fraction of the total) does more harm than good by creating dependence on the corrupt system.
Boy I never gave such a straight answer.

1) Unborn innocent life vs a killer (how is killing an innocent baby that wasnt even given a chance at life better than taking a murderer off the streets and off the tax payers payroll?) Stem cells---adult stem cells and umbellical stem cells have yeilded more results than embryo stem cells so there is no need to use a dead baby for the research. War itself is defense, Saddam was commiting mass murder among the people in his country, he was not leader that needed to be in power! Plus: there was Pearl Harbor which thrust us into the middle of WW2 when we were trying to stay out, then 9-11 thrust us into war against terrorist--sorry but both of those caused us to go to war to protect ourselves!
2) Who knows what the divorce rate would be b/t gays-as they do not have the marriage right. I do not think it would be any less....Marriage was defined long ago--b/t man and woman-its natural b/c thats the only natrual way to reproduce, so thats nature, not just Christianity!
3) We would like to set up a NON corupt program to help the poor in America, the best way is thru charity as our government has had hard times dealing w/ government founded ones ie: soc. sec that will run out before I retire, welfare abuse....etc....Spending money to protect our soldiers is not a waste of money to me.....

10) Capital Punishment is payback for a crime, they lost their rights when they committed a crime fitting of Capital Punishment. What crimes did the babies slaughtered by abortions commit? The two issues don't belong in the same category.
As far as stem cell research, I don't think the government has any business funding this. Let the philanthropists of the world take care of this. There are plenty of entities who come up with funds through donations, same should apply to this.
2) Divorce doesn't have political or social boundaries, it happens to all income levels. It comes down to the deteriotating values of society as a whole.
3) Why shouldn't the people of this country spend their money how they choose. Government was not designed to care for you from cradle to grave . I prefer my independence and freedom to achieve any level of greatness I aspire to. Sorry but I don't for one minute want or need a bunch of suits in Washington making my healthcare decisions. Unfortunately as a party, the Republicans have not set a good spending example lately, but we as a nation of voters can fix it, but most people don't care about issues until it affects them.
As for the war, I don't want to be attacked on home soil again. Keep my children safe.

1) Capital punishment should be done at halftime during every sporting event. Open and public without expense to US taxpayers.
2) Racism
3) Because the poor who need the money don't get it, most of the money (our money by the way) is used to run the wasteful government bureaucracies.(Just as in Iraq).
Both parties need to get a clue.

The hypocrisy driven by politics-a damn shame in this educated society. No doubt the liberals are guilty of some of the same hypocrisy but to nowhere near the same extent as the Cons. Libs in general are more likely to feel the "there are no right answers" concept in their thinking.

EXCELLENT POINT. I TELL PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT THE DEATH PENALTY THAT THE AUTOMATIC APPEAL PROCESS FOR CAPITAL OFFENDERS (IN CALIFORNIA) COSTS THE TAXPAYERS $10 MILLION FOR EACH PERSON ON DEATH ROW. IF THEY STILL WANT TO HAVE CAPITAL PUNISHMENT (EVEN THOUGH PEOPLE ARE RELEASED FROM DEATH ROW EACH YEAR BECAUSE THEY ARE PROVED INNOCENT) THEN THEY MUST BE TOO WEALTHY AND ARROGANT TO REASON WITH.
LET'S NOT GET INTO MARRIAGE. WE HAVE A LEGAL PROCESS IN THE U.S., YET SOME PEOPLE THINK THEY CAN DENY RIGHTS TO OTHERS BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY ARE ACTING MORALLY. HOW DOES ONE RESPOND TO THAT?
WAR IS NEVER COST EFFECTIVE. WE TRY TO BE JUST AND HONORABLE PEOPLE, BUT THE WAR AND OCCUPATION OF IRAQ IS LUNACY. I PRAY WE GET OUR TROOPS HOME ASAP.
