I lost my baby weight so much faster with my first two. With this one my son is 7 months old and I have lost 15 pounds. It seriously did not start "shedding" until 2 months ago. I have 10 more pounds to lose. I do breastfeed, but it did not seem to help this time. I think it just took longer for my body to readjust the hormone levels this time (that and I am a little older than my first two). I do NOT diet. I just watch what I eat. If I splurge at lunch and eat a bag of chips, lol...I have a very light dinner and don't eat junk the next day. Also, drink lots and lots and lots of water. I promise you will be very happy about that! It helps curb appetite and I lose weight faster with it. My doctor told me that by your one year mark you should be back to normal and to not think twice about it until then due to hormones and metabolism changes.
Good luck!

I also breast feed, and I think that might help. I don't walk the way I should, and I feel guilty about that. Some days, napping after being up half the night with my daughter is much more tempting. Then there is today, when all of her cool weather clothes have been subjected to leaky diapers.
I eat a diet of whole real foods, and little to fat. Most of my fat comes from peanuts, peanut butter, Smart Balance spread, and olive oil all in moderation. On the day I went to my MD to confirm my pregnancy, I weighed 170. At six feet,it's not a bad weight. When my daughter was born seven and a half weeks ago, I weighed 204. After a couple of weeks, I was down to 184. Last week or so, I gained a pound. This morning the scale read 182. It took awhile to quit eating as though I'm pregnant. (Of course, I ate more of the whole real foods and the occasional junk during my pregnancy. There were times when I settled for, say, white bread or pasta because it was better than nothing for my baby, until I could get some real food. Pre-pregnancy, I would have avoided it all together.) I drink plenty of water and two to three cups of vanilla soy milk and the occasional four cup pot of half decaf half regular coffee (two or three mornings a week; Pre-pregnancy, I had a pot of full-leaded coffee; a month into my pregnancy, I was down to half and half a couple of times a week; Now I can go either way on having coffee most morings). Even then, it took time to scale back more. I'mstill wearing maternity jeans and pants. Even if I'm just wearing my 14s, it would be nice to wear "real" jeans again. Also, a few more pounds, and I can fit into my suits and other pre-pregnancy dress pants again. I'm not overly concerned, though. I'm eating healthy and I need the nutrients for my daughter. Besides, it took about eight months for my body to get to its full pregnancy size, I don't expect it to change overnight.
About a month before my daughter was born, I received the September issue of "Experience Life" magazine. I thought the articles were quite timely. You might be interested in this one,

I'm going to see if the the library in the town I live in (a suburb of Columbus, OH that is literally right next door to the city) and the Columbus Public Library has (have?) the books and DVDs listed in the article, as soon as we clean out our living room so I have room to move. (We moved a month before our daughter was born. My husband had to write a paper regarding future employment post-grad school and a week before our daughter came he started his senior year.)
I hope this helps.

My friend, there is nothing to be embarrassed about. The key is that you want to do something about it. That is the best thing. I know you are up there in weight for a girl your size, so dont try any quick diets. You have added the pounds over years, so it will take some time to come off. Take your time and work it slowly. Since you are considered seriously obese, you should be able to get some help from your doctor. I wish you luck and keep your head up.

I am going to start weigh watchers but I had to wait til 6 weeks for them to sign me up and fro the docs approval. I haven't started it yet and I have lost 32 pounds ( in 10 weeks post partum) and I didn't breastfeed or diet. I did walking a couple times a week. it will come off naturally. Good luck and congrats.

The only thing I went back to work as a security guard and they made me do 16 hour shifts roving and checking fire extinguishers. that is how I lost my weight. So maybe some really good exercise. Good luck
