As a wife if your husband was quoted, describing his feelings for you, like this:
"I have a lot of respect for (name removed to protect the innocent) as an artist, as a woman. She's a very strong, gracious woman. She's very funny, a great comedian."

Arria you are absolutely right it is Creepy Cruise who said it and I for one think it is odd that he never once said how much he loves her? adores her? is excited about spending the rest of his life with her? Sounds more like a producer talking about the star of his latest movie

Well oooh la la Rebecca aren't you the picture of manners and decorum?! So it's considered bad manners to tell others how much you love your spouse...never knew that thank you for your etiquette assistance.

Well, I know for a fact TOM CRUISE, the alien, said that about his "wife"/beard/robot, Katie Holmes.
He talks about her like she's a grandmother.
Weird and he gives me chills.

It sounds to me that this is more of a deep friendship rather than a romantic marriage. I believe that in order to have a successfull marriage being friends is a must, but romance needs to make an appearance as well. I would be flattered if I was talked about in such a way, however it would be great if he had thrown in that I was the most beautiful woman he has ever seen or that having me as his wife made him complete. Something along those lines would have evened it all out.

Not all men would bother to describe their feelings at all. The ones who try usually stumble over words. The only way the man I was married to for 22 years would describe me was to tell me I was sweet. That's it. Fortunately, actions speak a lot louder than words.

My husband loves me, I know this because he tells me--in private--how he feels. In public, were he to say that he resected me as a person and as a woman. I could not ask for more! We (as a couple) do not feel a need to broadcast our personal lives and emotions to the others. It is called good manners and decorum!

I would be floating in the clouds and prepare a candlelight dinner for a romantic night at home.

Hurt! Where is the fact that he loves me, that I'm a loving and caring person. You need to have a serious talk with your man if that's how he feels about you.
