California is a great state. It has small towns, large urban cities, mountains, deserts, large agricultural areas, and laid back beach towns.
No matter where you go in California, you will find wineries and great wines being produced. California is known for its world class wines...yet many of the wine regions are not known and you can go wine tasting and sample the wines for free. My all-time favorite is right here at home in New York.
That said, every state has left me with some kind of great memory, except for just a few...Hawaii, but that's ONLY because I haven't been there yet. Delaware, Rhode Island, and South Carolina, because we weren't there long and I was too young to remember anything. Same with Florida, and also because I have a few not-so-good memories from there haha...but again, as a 2-year-old. Other than that, EVERY state has given me some great memories, most of them out west. Alaska is the most recent new one for me, with incredible amounts of great stuff.
We'll get to Hawaii one day, I hope.

I've been to the majority of the states in the U.S. and I'd have to say Washington is one of the most beautiful states I've ever visited. Ocean, mountains, beautiful fall colors - pretty much every outdoors activity you can think of can be done in Washington.
The friendliest people I found were in Colorado.
I lived in Florida and hated it. It's nice in terms of weather and amenities, but it's expensive, rude, and very fast-paced. I was flipped off because I was driving the speed limit with a donut since my tire was flat. It was terrible!

Colorado, if you love the outdoors then there is no better place to be in my opinion and you will never run out of things to do all year round.
Mountain biking, hiking, canoing, rafting, horseback riding, snowboarding, skiing... really the list is endless.
You have also got beautiful scenery all around you and great places of interest such as the national parks, museums, various trails, the mountains and zoos
I could go on all day...

Most fun...either California or Florida.
But I really like New England because of the lifestyle.
