I've goofed off at work all week and almost missed the "deadline" to choose a Best Answer for this all important question.

It's truly difficult to pick only one - as always. Most of your choices would be mine too. And of course has covered ALL of the bases making this even more difficult for a definitive answer.... and yes warm up that DVD player & pencil in a movie marathon. I'll be there with the munchies.

Hempsted, I do believe that most days, I would pick your two choices. In fact, I think Casablanca is still a top movie. Not too many romantic heroes - with all of their pretty boy looks - can top Bogie ever,.

My choice though is not based on which movies I would choose, but based on the way this question has been answered....

Meet Joe Black, because of Susan's vulnerability in negotiating the terms for true love played sensually by Claire Forlani. Having actors like Anthony Hopkins and Brad Pitt skillfully play other significant parts in this strange tale about love and death also helps. Most significantly the movie is an endearing tale about love and its inevitably painful conclusions in a temporal world.

Better yet is The English Patient, a tale of similarly doomed love. Here war is the backdrop, whose twists and turns of fate focuses love's tenderness. The mysterious plot is more like a maze of intricate connections that make love's choosing a compelling adventure. Simple moments of caring become replete with significance and almost require viewing the movie twice, in order to receive the full impact of the rich texture in which love finds its full expression.

Did you say: TWO, TWO-ENTY [heck if Y!A can delete, I can invent :-)] or TWO HUNDRED? ... Given the latest series of injustices that I have endured at the bitter and butcherly hands of my stalker, aided by The Oracle, I'm afraid a mere TWO won't even begin to appease the JOY (Justice On Yahoo). :-)

Anyway, I'm planning on watching at least half of all the romantic movies in my Movie Collection, this weekend alone! There is always some fresh popcorn and an assortment of tasty finger food, snacks, cold soft drinks, and quality beer at hand too, if you care to join me [boy I guess I've done it now, watch my Y@$$ (i.e. Yahoo@$$) get indefinitely suspended over this "Indecent-sounding Proposal" LOL ;-) :-)]

Pick any TWO you enjoy the most from My Personal Movie Collection List below (I LOVE THEM ALL EQUALLY - a different one for a different occasion; in no particular order) and I'll forever call them MY FAVORITES (in your De Plume honor):

I'm not a huge fan of romance movies, but I do really like Chocolat (it's got Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche).

And I guess the Bridget Jones movies are pretty good too.
