Being lonely is sad.
Being around people isn't, necessarily.
You're not the first person to do this. Many people have gone to where the people are, just to be around people.
Try talking to others now and then.

No.
As specially if you use that time wisely by doing light reading the subject or studying while you can still enjoy the things happening in the back ground and taking small brakes from studies, to notice the antics of few clowning moments.
Otherwise yes.
But read my article.

General Advice to Young People
By
Minootoo
This is my general advice to all.
You sound very young and if you are under 25, then study hard if in school or college, stay and finish it. Or join a school or college, acquire higher education.
Avoid distraction while studying at home or at school, just concentrate on the thing that you do at the time you are doing.
Build a carrier, youth comes but once take full advantage of it. Study hard, play some enjoy friendship, and then at age 25 if still unattached then try the sites like.

Been there, Let me recommend a place to you, find a local Church that has things going on all the time, it gives you a second family, especially if you are away at school. Churches have a lot of community service stuff going on to and this lets you meet people and try to figure out bettter ways to help them and the world around you. It also helps keep your thoughts off yourself, everybody has problems, how you deal with them is what forms and shapes you into the person you are supposed be. Good Luck.

Honestly, it IS sad. I won't ask you to go make friends (even though you should) because I know that that can be difficult. It's not easy to just walk up to someone and say "Hi, let's be friends!". I think you should join a club of any sort, a club that will definitely interest you and perhaps you will manage to get along with the people that share your same interests. Hope that helps!

Not necessarily...and there could be more productive ways to meet people and be around them.
If you are feeling lonely, you could try getting involved with groups that share similar interests, hobbies, beliefs, etc. Or, you could try and speak with people in some of your classes.
It can be hard to overcome shy-ness, and there are probably ultimately better ways than sitting around passively.

It seems like a waste of time. If you want to be around people why not join clubs or groups at school so you can actually interact with people??

It's sad if that's the only way you feel that you can be around people. Try to make friends. I know it's hard, but it will be worth it if you make even one good one.
