I didnt wear maternity clothes after giving birth any of the three times I had babies. I would just wear sweats or baggy tshirts, it made me feel better to not have to put on maternity clothes.....it took about 3 weeks before I could fit in regular clothes...but each and every mother is different...I will tell you this though..on the news about a month or so ago there was a special that said women who dont focus on their weight and feel content with the size they are right now are more likely to lose more weight and faster than those that fret over their current appearance....I believe it was on ABC news...besides, you will be so busy with your new baby you wont be worrying about your weight!!!

Congratulations !

It all obviously depends on how much weight you have put on and how slim you were pre-pregnancy.
In my experience I put on around two and half stone and left the hospital having given birth in maternity clothes. I found them the most comfortable things for about two weeks...I then kept things I wore for the first few months of pregnancy on and now my baby is 14 weeks I wear none of my maternity things but if honest some of my little going out tops I still cant get into but most every day items now fit comfortably.

I had a classical c-section so I wore my maternity clothes for what seemed like forever, about 6 weeks, but I was weighing less than I did before I got pregnant.

I'm 25 weeks pregnant with my first and the only weight I have put on is my bump lol...I'm usually a slim size 10-12 and can still get into some of my jeans as they are low but my bump is becoming bigger at the bottom as well as fillin out at the top so some of my jeans are becoming tight and uncomfy....my mums a size 12 and she's given me sum jeans 2 feel normal in and some sweat pants for comfort...the jeans r fine and fit my waist fine..just big baggy on legs but hey i don't care lol!! Iw as told it can take upto 12months for you to get your pre pregnancy body shape back but everyone is different and I hope mine doesn't take long! xx good luck

How much weight have you gained? I gained a lot with my first one and it took about 6 weeks before I could zip my old jeans. Second pregnancy I only gained 20 lbs and was wearing a size smaller in 10 days.

Just like we all carry our pregnancies differently, we all go back to normal differently too. It will depend on how quickly your abdomen goes back down, how much weight you gained, what your original size and shape was.

A rather overweight friend of mine was back in her 'real' jeans a week after having her second....but she's got an apple body type, so she pretty much always looks like she could be pregnant anyway...

Only time will tell you that one.

If you are a superstar, you will hire a personal trainer and nutritionist to get you back to your slim figure in one week. A nanny will care for your demanding child while you get your beauty sleep. The $300,000 weekly cost won't bother you one bit, because it will be pocket change to you. Then you will make all the normal women out there feel like cr*p.

we have just had a girl 3 weeks ago. after 1 week my wife started wearing a back support belt (we bought it from argos £12 ) this will help to get you back to your normal size but you need to have a balanced diet as well. Plenty of water, fruit and veg is very important.
