$3000 gas card-id send the $ on stupid stuff otha than gas

I'd definitely take the $3000 cash.

Between Feb. 2001 and Jan. 2007 (six years), I only spent ~$1830 for gas on my car... http://www.kluge.net/~felicity/prius.php?userid=1 So a $3000 gas card would take me forever to use up, and I'd probably lose some of that money due to expiration date on the card or a monthly non-usage fee! (And the reason that I don't have records past June 2006 is that I now drive my car so very infrequently - I walk everywhere or take public transportation since I've moved to the Big City... Could that $3000 gas card be a $3000 metro transit card instead?)

Plus, most gas cards tie you into a particular brand of gas, and if/when I'm traveling I'd rather not be hunting around for only a particular station if I'm low on fuel... That, and that brand may not be the least expensive on the block.

The cash, however, I can use today to pay off my bills and buy other items, like groceries. I can invest the $3000 or at least gain interest on it in my savings account, as opposed to it sitting around on a gas card...

Amazingly, there are still some things that you cannot buy with cash, though. (You cannot pay for something via cash over the phone or online, for example. You'd have to put the cash into a checking account, or use the cash to pay your credit card bill, for example.) Also, Apple stores have stopped accepting cash for payment for iPhones: http://www.businessweek.com/the_thread/techbeat/archives/2007/10/cards_cash_and.html Then again, you wouldn't be able to pay for those things with a gas card, either...

Gas card would insure it would be used for the right thing... I think I'd rather have cash... but would appreciate a gas card longer.

Cash. I live close to work and probably don't spend $300 a year in gas even with the high prices.

I think I'd have the cash because I need my OWN vehicle instead of using my mom's truck. If I had a car though, I'd want the gas card because then it would make things more simple. Plus I don't liek shopping :p

yeah probably the on line business, but make it now and its gonna be really hard to sell ship collect payment your gonna need a debit card. I'm 14 and did the eBay thing i enjoyed it but then it sucked i donut understand how people make money and are satisfied with life. i wanted to shoot my self but i walked away with about a grand. and i cant truly relate pushing buttons it would suck but then again you can probably get better jobs especially where you live. So id suggest looking in to that. also i have some money saved up and I'm looking to invest in the stock market using trade you can make millions if you do it right but not in a summer it would take years depending how good you are. so if you read some books that might be something to look into also. none the less good luck! sorry the grammar sucks i typed it in like 30 seconds
