andrew- the only thing here is that, we have all blackouts. CBC does 2 games on saturday, a Leafs game, and then either a 'nucks or oilers game.
NHL network doesnt do games.. the odd one every month maybe..
Sportsnet, like i said, we have blackouts so all i get is leafs games.
and then TSN i might get the odd Pens game, or habs, or whatever is on.
and its to expensive to buy Centre ice, i cant afford it..

Why would you want versus? As a former American now living in CANADA , as bad as TSN is, that is better than versus. There is zero need for versus up here. The coverage up here is infinitely better than that abortion of a channel. I am in the Hamilton area and between Leafs Tv, Rogers Sports Net, TSN, and CTV there is no need for versus. Every Canadian team is covered by just those channels. If you get Centre Ice, that covers the absolute rest of the NHL.
Edited to add: I do not know what your financial situation is so I will not be ignorant. I will just tell you that I get the super sports package from my cable company for $29.00 dollars a month. With that I get Centre Ice, MLB extra innings, all the OHL,NFL,College football and basketball, and NBA games.

Versus has two games a week, Monday and Tuesday. Most of the games on Versus are not compelling at all. This past Tuesday was Pittsburgh vs. Minnesota, both fine teams, but they meet like once every decade so they have no real animosity towards each other. It is nice we have a channel here in the States to watch, but your Canadian stations do a better job. You are not missing much.
I see, not all cable companies have Versus down here. I just ordered direct tv and had to get a more expensive package than I need just to get Versus. I guess one plus about it is it is now in HD. I just think they try to hard to be a hockey authority. I don't know if you ever watched ESPN, but Versus studios guys are pretty much the same thing ESPN had minus Melrose and Clement is gone this year. I had it made when I lived in upstate NY because we got all the Rangers, Devils, Islanders, and Sabres games. Now I only get the Hurricanes games(live in NC). So it is better than nothing, I'm just not impressed with their coverage.

Versus is available in Canada, it is/used to be called the Outdoor Life Network.
CRTC regulations require Versus to show 30% Canadian programming
CBC and TSN have the exclusive rights to show nationally televised games in Canada, so that is the time slots you see most of the Canadian Programming (Don't Forget Your Passport, etc)
Chris, I have ths same thing as betterthanu...For $29.95/month I get MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, College, and OHL. Talk to your parents, see if they'll get it. Surely if you are as big a sports fan as you seem, one of them is too. Family bonding time buddy!

lol, I agree with Flames Fan, you should be at school! lmao. Versus only shows 2 games a week, so it's not like you're really missing out on THAT much.
