Adjust it by screwing it in or out.............

There are usually two screws at the far end of the ball on the rod. The first one (closest to the ball) is for adjusting the water level. The other one is to adjust the arm if the ball is hitting the tank top.

There is a small screw near the end of the float arm, opposite the float itself. Screwing this screw in (down) will raise the float. Screwing it out (up) will lower it.

It's even easier if your float is at the end of metal rod...you just bend the rod up or down as needed.
