there are ski pants and ski bibs, bibs are usually for children and small teens, most adults wear pants, with bibs, the overalls cannot be taken off..but on pants, some come with overalls that you can put on or off...

Not at all - some of the very best ski / snowboard pants do NOT have the "over the shoulder" straps.
Check out North Face, Columbia, and Burton - those are my favorite ski pants!

nope, actually, I rarely see those anymore! I wear snow pants without the overalls, and they're so comfortable. If you're looking for good snow pants, I recommend burton ones. They make good pants. The ones I have are so warm and comfortable.

No, but I like to use suspenders so they stay up all the way all the time. It is way more comfortable that way.
