1.4(2-v)>-(v-5)

8 - 4v > - v + 5
3 - 4v > - v
3 - 3v > 0
1 - v > 0
v - 1 < 0
v < 1

2.1over2y>2(y-3)

1/(2y) > 2(y-3)
1/y > 4(y-3)
1/y > 4y - 12

a)
y ≠ 0

b)
Suppose y > 0:
1/y > 4y - 12
1 > 4y² - 12y
4y² - 12y - 1 < 0
-0.081 < y < 3.081
Solution:
0 < y < 3.081

c)
Suppose y < 0:
1/y > 4y - 12
1 < 4y² - 12y
4y² - 12y - 1 > 0
y < -0.081 and y > 3.081
Solution:
y < -0.081

Result:
y < -0.081 and 0 < y < 3.081

3.3w-1over2(2w+8)>0

(3w-1) / {2(2w+8)} > 0

a)
3w - 1 > 0 and 2w + 8 > 0
w > 1/3 and w > - 4
Solution:
w > 1/3

b)
3w - 1 < 0 and 2w + 8 < 0
w < 1/3 and w < - 4
Solution:
w < -4

Result:
w < -4 and w > 1/3
-

4.5(v-1)>3(t-1)<7b+5
