6x + 8y = 10
-6x - 9y = - 12----ADD

- y = - 2
y = 2

2x + 6 = 4
2x = - 2
x = - 1

x = - 1 , y = 2

First you must multiply one of the equation for a number that transform one of the terms of the equation exactly at the same value but the opposite signal. For example, multiply the second equation by -3 and the first by 2.

(3x+4y=5).2
(2x+3y)=4).(-3)

6x+8y=10
-6x-9y=-12

Now sum the two equation :
Note: the term x disappears
-y=-2---> y = 2

Now use one of the original equation to find x:

3x+4.(2)=5
3x=5-8
3x=-3
x=-1

The result of this system is:

x= -1
y= 2

1) 3x + 4y = 5
2) 2x + 3y = 4

Multiply eq 1 by 2 and eq 2 by -3 and add them

6x + 8y = 10
-6x - 9y = -12
- - - - - - - - - - -
-y = -2
y = 2

1) 3x + 4(2) = 5
3x + 8 = 5
3x = -3
x = -1

2) 2x + 3y = 4
2(-1) + 3(2) = 4
-2 + 6 = 4
4 = 4

3x + 4y = 5
4y = 5 - 3x
y = 5/4 - 3x/4
thus
2x + 3y = 4 translates to
2x + 3(5/4 - 3x/4) = 4
2x + 15/4 - 9x/4 = 4
2x - 9x/4 = 4 - 15/4
(8x - 9x)/4 = (16 - 15)/4
8x - 9x = 1
x = -1
substitute that back into the first one and you get y = 2

I used elimation and got x=-1 and y=2
-2(3x+4y=5)
3(2x+3y=4)

-6x-8y=-10
6x+9y=12
y=2

Put 2 in for x in both eq. (I did it for one)
3x+4*2=5
3x=-3
x=-1

The answer is ( -1, 2 )

3x+4y=5 .......... (1)
2x+3y=4 .......... (2)

Multiplying eqn (1) by 2 and Eqn (2) by 3 we get

6x + 8y = 10
6x + 9y = 12
.............................
- 1y = - 2 (on subtraction)
ie y = 2

Similarly if we multiply Eqn (1) by 3 and Eqn (2) by 4 we get

9x + 12y = 15
8x + 12y = 16
..........................
1x = - 1

Hence Answer is x = -1 and y = 2
