if waterboarding ISN'T torture, why did we convict Japanese and German war criminals of torture for doing exactly that?

It is a Torture. It is a Torture in any language, any society, and humanity. It does nothing but crush the moral and humanity of the person being tortured and leads him or her to spit out information that may be untrue but desired by the interrogater all for the sake of stopping the Torture and the person not having to suffer more.

In colleges liberal or otherwise Hell Week to plebes and freshmen are more dangerous, cause actual physical harm, and in some cases mental problems. However, if waterboarding becomes listed as a "torture" then as Americans we need to eliminate it. I agree with Senator McCain that "torture" is unproductive, unreliable, and unAmerican.

Waterboarding is torture and America has become the "bad guy" for using it. We are no better than the "terrorists" we claim to be fighting. Total hypocrisy, enough said.

It is torture. Read article 32 of the 4th Geneva Convention. It's available on wikipedia. Also, our special ops soldiers aren't prisoners during training.

Volunteering for something is different than not. Some people's sex lives could be considered torture if they did not consent to it.

We are in a war against an enemy that wants to destroy us. If waterboarding would prevent another 9/11, then do whatever it takes to stop another attack before it happens. The problem with some of the mindset today is to ignore the victims and worry about the "rights" of criminals and those who would harm us.

Very true and the truth is that most people dont know what torture really is. I went through worse as a soldier than what some people scream about as being torture.

I've seen T.V. reporters go through water-boarding for a story. I've never seen a T.V. reporter go through anything our enemy's would do to us.
