Here's the dealio. Last year on Halloween, October 31st, 2006, Barker announced his retirement would be in June 15th, 2007. He filmed that episode a week earlier. CBS was looking for a new host, until Drew Carey's agent asked Drew if he wanted to. He said no, a month later, after he filmed the pilot of the Power Of Ten, his agent called again, and they had a serious talk. 15 minutes before his interview with David Letterman, he was the official new Price Is Right host on July 23rd, 2007. He immediately announced this on Letterman. On August 15th, 2007, he started filming PRICE episodes. October 15th, 2007, The first Price Is Right episode aired.

Do you not watch alot of tv? I don't and I know this. It is Drew Carey. It has been discussed for months now that Drew Carey was going to take over Bob Barker's position on "The Price Is Right" after his retirement. Bob Barker is still kicking, and keeps missing the bucket!

Bob Barker isn't dead, he's retired, and TPTB believed the show should go on without him. Yes, new host Drew Carey also did "Whose Line Is it Anyway."

No, he just retired. Drew Carey is hosting "The Price is Right" now. It seems a little rough right now, but I'm sure he'll get the hang of it!!
