Good question. I fear death and have been thinking about it more. But then I realise concerntrating on that isn't leading my life to the full.
So I guess I'm saying you need to concerntrate on the positives.

Unfortunately with a fear such as one of worms, exposure therapy is the most common form of treatment. It will be rough at first, especially because of the extent of your fear. You seem very traumatized when you encounter the subject of your fear, and thus of course the idea of any type of exposure to the subject will frighten you. The best way to handle the fear is slowly introducing the exposure of the subject. You will most likely begin looking at pictures for an extended period of time (until your anxiety and stress diminishes). Then observing a live subject interacting with another person from a separate room, followed by actually being in the room. No matter what I say this is going to freak you out to the extreme... but in your best interest to continue your life without this fear a part of it, seek out exposure therapy. I wish you the best of luck in the near future and hope that you find a clinician that is able to assist you in overcoming your fear.

I suppose one could be afraid of anything, or person even, in most cases eg phobias you can access help and many phobias are curable, with a little help from the pros. ask your doctor who will refer you. If you are afraid of a person then seek help from the police. Whatever it is you are afraid of you are probably not alone, your life is precious and you ARE special and loved by more people than you probably want to think about, dont let this fear take over you, you can be in control its just a case of finding a way that will work for you. the fact that u are asking this question is your first step, good luck.

If you know the cause of your fear it might be best to deal with it. When I was waiting for a felony trial NOTHING got rid of my fear. Valium helped for a month, and then it stopped working and everything went wrong after that.

My advice is to see a therapist if you can afford one. But psychiatrists will only give you medication that will make it worse. Psychology is more effective I think, it is better for working on your coping skills.

Also, religion is a good way to stop alot of fear. It may also give you meaning to your life.

stay away from fear mongers such as:
evening news. all sensationalist media for that matter.
religious zealots. doomsday is really not worth stressing over. If you think its a lie, then relax. if you think its inevitable, then relax. theres nothing you can do either way.
go for a hike.
drink a nice glass of wine with a good friend.
never go on a diet
never work a job you hate
its the simple things, i promise. take a deep breath, and get on with your day, try to smile and live while youre at it.

For me, it was therapy & anti-depressants. I had been through trauma & had panic attacks where I was afraid to leave the house, closed the drapes & listened for someone outside. Time helped the most, but you might need a little help.

fear is melted by love,by empathy,by the simple appreciation of small things...love is the light of the soul, the bearer of goodness and light.Breathe in peace, breathe out love, and know, inside yourself, that everything is well. xx
