Especially during the holiday season. I prefer cash. Then I won't have to try and keep up with all my receipts during the shopping season.

I'm with you on using cash but only because it's easier to control what you're spending. There have been way too many times I've forgotten about a purchase I've made on my card and then I get hit with insufficient funds charge at the bank. Now I withdraw what I know I can spend. When the cash is gone, the spending stops. But I do like the convenience of a check card.

I perfer a check. I use my credit card for gas and emergencys that I can pay off at the end of the month. I finally have a zero balance and don't want to let my card get out of control again, so I do checks. I never carry enough cash to buy anything big.

I use my bank debit card for literally EVERYTHING. I am on a plan where I pay one flat fee for a service charge every month and all my debit purchases are covered in that flat fee. (Otherwise there would be as much as $1.50 charge for each transaction.)

All I need do is keep the receipts (in my bankbook) and then check each one off when I update my book. I also have a budget set up on my computer that I input every time I make a transaction, to keep on top of it all.

I have absolutely no trouble keeping my accounts balanced, and I can tell you TO THE PENNY what purchases my money went on!

i prefer check card during holidays since there are so many people in the stores that u never know what u can drop or lose or get stolen. at least most stores ask for identification with cards or a pin. You always will have the option of canceling the card and if u lose cash, u'll never get it back.

Dead Green Presidents! I never use a credit card for making purchases, and never, never use my bank card...too much fraud committed no matter where you use it. And let's face it...when we spend real money, we are far more careful as to what we buy...waving a credit card around, we lose sight of the real costs until the bill comes in. IF you cannot afford to buy it with cash, you probably can't afford to buy it period. Good luck and peace, Goldwing

Neither; I use a credit card. I have a place for receipts, and check them against the bill from time to time, but the primary sanity check on the account is to look at the details on-line. That way, I can spot any funny business rather quickly.

Debit Cards for gas, cash for holiday purchases.

With my check card I get 1 cent for 1$ purchase, so I prefer check card over cash.

I wish I can give my bank name...but not sure I can give away the name on this forum.

Debit card, I am a fanatic about keeping track of my expenses. And If I get a rotten apple it is much easier to get the money back if you have a receipt. I just stuff then in my wallet with the card. Then when I have time put them into the computer checking program.

We prefer cash at all times unless making a big purchase.
