Love is a feeling. A description. Like any adjective, it is not intrinsically EITHER a blessing or a curse. Whether it seems like one or the other is going to depend a lot more on the person experiencing it and the circumstances in which it occurs.

In a sense, asking this question is as nonsensical as asking whether the colour purple is a blessing or a curse.

BUT though it may not in itself be intrinsically good or bad, I think it is fair to say that those who can experience it are richer than those who cannot. A world without any colour would still be full of fascination and wonder, but adding colour on top of that adds just that much more.

The same might be said for any adjective - we are richer for having sound, taste, colour, emotion, tactile awareness and any number of other things. Having them turn against us is no fun but were they absent entirely I think they would be missed.

Khan,

Mohabbat or love is indeed a bliss. Omar Khyaam could not made out such wonderful poetries other wise. Shah Jehan could not have made the Taj Mahal. Ishq, Mohabbat is a great feeling and indeed blissful.

But it can also become curse of the worst sort. Look at the Laila and Majnu incidents. Look at what happens to romeo and Juliet. Look at the Sahairs lost Kwab!

Does this amount to consluding that love shall be treated as a curse? Certainly not!

Watch a child and you will see that love is their default emotion. We can be confused about love, but that gentle warm feeling toward our fellow Man in which we wish to put others before ourselves is our default as well.

It is just the way we are. I can’t see how it can be measured as good or bad.
