Recheck your system requirements. Depending on how long you have been away, a patch may have driven the game outside of your systems ability to support it. Pay particular attention to the graphics card.

I have been playing since March 2004. My system was fin until the Expansion Pack was ready to be released and their last patch broke my ability to play. I had to upgrade my video card.

I can only think of 2 things that could be going wrong. I know i had a problem with items showing up in my bag when you go to a different window when you are logging into a character. If you aren't doing that its probably your internet connection. you can send an email to blizzard about this problem and they will help you out within 24 hours or less.

Sounds more like an Internet connectivity issue than anything.

Do you have Vista? That could also be causing some problems.

Check some other online games, if you have any. If you can't stay connected, your Internet connection is having a bad case of the hiccups (you may not notice it during regular use), and you should contact your provider.

I would contact Blizzard tech support, the only other thing is your home connection, try your isp provider, could be a bad cable modem if you have one. Even your computer, my friend would get dissconnected every time he turned in a quest.. it was his computer. I think a video problem, its been a while.
