1. The table below shows the average high and low temperature in January and July for two cities at the same latitude. Both cities receive about the same amount of sunlight. Which city is on an island in the ocean and which city is in a desert?

City Temperatures are in Farinheit:

January High for City A is 78.8
January Low for City A is 64.4
July High for City A is 82.4
July Low for City A is 68.0

Janurary High for City B is 89.6
Janurary Low for City B is 50.0
July High for City B is 111.2
July Low for City B is 80.6

Answer is A, City A has a more moderate climate (less change in max and min temperatures) due to the large body of water.

Hi!.. According to me, Option E's definitely OUT, as the information is specific enough to lead us to an answer.
Then, as you can observe, City A has recorded a moderate range of temperature, both in Jan and July. the spread between the high and low temp being less; as for City B, it has more spread/ band between it's high and low temp, showing the extremity of weather. Hence, I can safely conclude that City A is an island city, as the humidity prevalent on an island city controls and maintains a uniformity in the temperature, whereas City B is definitely a desert city, going by the volatility in weather. So, option A's the answer. Hope the answer suffices your doubt! :)

Most likely A is an island and B is a desert, But I don't think there's enough information given to say that definitively.
