recently purchased a house 4 weeks ago and 1 of the things we asked the vendors to do before we completed was to have the central heating and boiler checked and guareented because the boiler was quite old..no problems they did that and there friend a corgi registered engineer passed it off so that was that day of exchange we went to the property all excited when we tried to put the central heating on nothing so we went into the cupboard tried everything still no heating so on inspection of the boiler it did not look like a service had been done on it so we decided to get our own independent engineer to look at it and oh my god he condemned the system to be unsafe and leaking carbon monoxide. so if me and my children had moved into this property we were basically at great risk. We have now got our solicitor involved but he is saying we have no case cuz we have no hard evidence but we have 2 contradicting reports!! any advice would be great

Hindsight is always 20/20 - now you know never to let the friends of the vendor do the job. Always always always hire your own person to the job and send them the bill.
You have a false report in your hands and on paper, so you at least have a case of fraud. You do have hard evidence, if you have the paperwork with the signature of the engineer who 'passed off' the first inspection. You bought the porperty on good faith and based on a false report, I would say you have a case. I would get another solicitor.

we've 2 of the 1st era (2002) Prius interior the relatives. the 1st era had many undemanding problems that have been fastened interior the 2d era. then back, they have been via a approaches the main good autos we've ever had. My spouse's is the troublemaker - at 10 years old it mandatory a sparkling 12 volt "aux" battery and quickly after that it mandatory shocks and struts. The mileage became approximately 130K for the battery and 133K for the shocks. It additionally mandatory physique fix while it became sideswiped via a truck. Mine, at 166K miles and eleven years, has no longer mandatory any of those. previous my spouse's upkeep, they have in basic terms had habitual upkeep, alternative of cracked windshields, tires, and wiper blades. The brakes in the two are unique and decrease than a million/2 worn. Neither hybrid battery has began to sow early warning signs of failure, in spite of the undeniable fact that the 1st era batteries are much less physically powerful than the 2d and third era batteries. The upholstery, even with 3 grandchildren, continues to be in very solid shape. We in many cases pass 350-4 hundred miles on a tank. i'm vigilant approximately retaining a minimum of a million/4 tank of gasoline in it, that's sound advice for any motor vehicle made as a results of fact the early Nineteen Eighteen Eighties. Our gasoline economic device is constrained via our short journeys (5 miles or much less, frequently) and the decrease performance of the 1st era. 40 two-40 5 mpg is conventional. That stated, Ford has been making fantastically solid passenger autos for many of a decade. they do no longer look to be as complication unfastened as a Prius yet they do no longer tend to collect costly mess ups. I fairly like the way late variety Ford engine administration structures take care of overheating.

Get a new solicitor. Sounds like he is on the sellers side. You have the proof that the boiler was checked and okayed by a licensed professional.

Try and get a hold of the previous owners and the guy they used to check it and tell them what has happened.. They might be nice enough to offer to fix or pay half.. don't tell them what your lawyer said... good luck..
